Mountain Biking

The Ylläs mountain bike trails have a range of difficulty levels. You can enjoy some of the finest mountain biking experiences available, by conquering the Kukastunturi fell. Surrounded by Finnish taiga, this fell offers fast trails and stunning scenery. The long-awaited Ylläs-Levi mountain bike trail, which runs through the Pallas-Ylläs National Park, was opened in the summer of 2015. It has been possible to drive in certain parts of the Pallas-Ylläs National Park since June 2017, and several other cycling routes and destinations are located nearby.Ylläs’s mountain bike trail map provides information on mountain bike routes and their difficulty levels; these maps are sold by local firms, and by Tourist Information at the Yllästunturi Visitor Centre Kellokas, in the summer and autumn.

Ylläs Bike Park

Ylläs Bike Park is the place for downhill mountain biking. Ylläs Bike Park is located in Sport Resort Ylläs, southern side of Ylläs fell. If you enjoy the speed, downhill biking is the right kind of summer sport for you! Downhill trails start from the top of Ylläs. There are two different trails that start from the top and when you come a litte bit downwards the two trails split in to several different trails that lead you down to Sport Resort Ylläs. The blue run is good for the beginners and the red one for the advanced bikers. Gondola lift takes you and your bike to the top in seven minutes. You can buy Gondola tickets and rent bikes from Head Sport Shop, located next to the Gondola lift.

Equipment rental and maintenance

There are several equipment rental outlets in the Ylläs area, which hire out mountain bikes and thick-wheeled fat bikes. They also provide bike maintenance and washing services. Some also arrange guided mountain bike tours, on which you can learn the basics of mountain biking, or explore new routes safely with a local guide.
